Device Replacement

When replacing a device with another one (e.g. when replacing a failed device with a new one), replace it by referring to the following procedure.

 

The device replacement function can be used only if all the following conditions are met.

  • The device to be replaced has been activated.

  • There are devices of the same device type that have not been activated.

  • The failed device and the new one belong to the same tenant.

 

Device replacement procedure


When replacing a device with another one, a device profile will be used. Create a device profile in advance.

 

  1. On the device list, click [ Device Replacement ] for the activated device that you want to replace with another one.

     

  2. Select the device type and device profile, and specify a name for the current device after the replacement.


    The device name of the current device before the change will be automatically carried over to the device name of the new one.
    After the device replacement, "Replaced-" will be attached to the device name of the current device by default so that it will not overlap with the device name of the new one.
    (e.g.)
    Current device: (Before replacement) Sample  → (After replacement) Replaced-Sample
    New device: (Before replacement) Test → (After replacement) Sample
     

  3. Click [ Confirm ].

     

  4. If you connect the new device to the Internet, the device replacement will be completed.
