amnimo Inc. (headquarters: Musashino-shi, Tokyo; President and CEO: Chiharu Nakabayashi; “amnimo”) has signed a business alliance agreement with ITEC Hankyu Hanshin Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Fukushima-ku, Osaka; President: Yoshinobu Mizumoto; “ITEC Hankyu Hanshin”). amnimo will also carry out a third-party allotment of new shares to ITEC Hankyu Hanshin’s corporate venture capital.

As surveillance cameras spread, there is demand for video solutions that let you install many cameras over a wide area and manage and monitor their video centrally and remotely, even over low-bandwidth networks such as mobile networks. AI video analysis is also starting to spread. Uses go beyond crime prevention to checking site conditions through remote monitoring and designing facilities based on visitor behavior analysis, and demand for practical use is growing.

amnimo is a venture company that started as a new business of Yokogawa Electric Corporation. It offers a unique gateway that records camera video at the edge stably even in harsh environments and sends data to the cloud over LTE or fiber, and a hybrid video management solution with the cloud that greatly reduces operating costs. These are already used in ITEC Hankyu Hanshin’s security camera solutions. amnimo also plans to offer soon a service that runs AI image processing at the edge with an AI chip in the edge gateway.

ITEC Hankyu Hanshin is the system integrator of the Hankyu Hanshin Toho Group. It is developing AI image processing technology for use in many types of facilities, such as security cameras for local governments and anomaly detection at railway facilities (on platforms and at railroad crossings).

With this investment, amnimo will work with ITEC Hankyu Hanshin to offer new services, including not only video monitoring solutions with advanced technology but also communication devices and AI solutions with edge AI.
